Robert and Renly Baratheon are still alive; therefore Robert is still king.
Gendry has been acknowledged as Robert’s and made a legitimate Baratheon by Robert.
Lord Jon Arryn has just died and Ned Stark is made Hand in his stead.
Gendry must deal with being a highborn, a possible heir to the throne, and everyone in the Red Keep.
